Juliette Denton | Our New Little Bundle of Joy

It’s time to share some photos of our new little bundle of joy. On the 28th of December 2011, Juliette Denton was born in Panorama Medi-Clinic; just a few days after Christmas. The nine and a half month journey has finally came to its end. Amelie couldn’t wait to have a little sister and help Zani around the house. It was great to witness the beauty of life all over again. I was present during the whole procedure in the operating theater and didn’t faint. Both me & Zani are still ecstatic & filled with joy. Zani had a wonderful pregnancy experience and both of us are truly thankful that Juliette is healthy. She turn a month old the other day and I thought that it’s about time we share some photos with everyone. It takes a bit to get use to the late night feedings and cleaning nappies, but it is all worth it. Thank you to all friends and family for all the great message, help, food, visits and gifts. We truly appreciate it. Here are some images from Zani’s pregnancy, Juliette’s birth and a few baby pictures.

Couple Shoot | Cape Town | Sachin & Lucy

Sachin & Lucy visited Cape Town recently to travel around South Africa and to celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary. Sachin (originally from India) & Lucy (Uruguayan) lives in New York. They had two ceremonies when they got married 7 years ago; first in New York and then in India. A few weeks before the trip, Sashin e-mailed me and asked if I would like to photograph a couple shoot with them. I immediately said yes. On the first day of 2012, I met up with them to photographed some portraits in and around Cape Town. The weather wasn’t too good for summer time, but still it created moody clouds shots. Sachin was generous to lend me his Canon 50mm 1.2 L lens to play around with during the shoot. Congrats again Sachin & Lucy on your wedding anniversary and thank you for the opportunity to photograph the two of you. It was great to sit down and get to know the two of you. Early one Sunday morning, I met up with Nicole & Raphael to photograph their couple shoot in Cape Town. They have been happily married for a few years now and decided to have some photos taken of the two of them in casual cloths. The light that time of the morning in the city really inspired me to photograph some great moments. Here are some of my favorite moments from this shoot.

Couple Shoot | Muizenberg | Jacques & Yolande

One Sunday afternoon, Yolande & Jacques picked me up with their Tazz and we drove to Muizenberg to do their couple shoot. Yolande is a talented photographer (Yolande Snyders Photography) and she has a sideline project called the “Desert Rose Project”. This was my first time shooting in Muizenberg. Both Jaqcues & Yolande was just as nervous as myself when we started the shoot. But As the afternoon progressed the creativity juices kept getting better and better; as we photographed around Muizenberg.

I’ll be photographing their wedding later this year and share the images when they are ready. Here are some of my favourite images from the shoot. Thank you Yolande & Jacques. You guys were the main stars of the day.

Week 2 of our trip | Saint Petersburg, Russia

Week 2, Saint Petersburg, Russia

Vera insisted that we must visit Saint Petersburg when come to Russia. After our wonderful time in Moscow we packed our bags and took the midnight train to Saint Petersburg. Saint Petersburg is located on the Neva River at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea. It is also known as the Venice of the North with a few canals running through the city. For a whole week we walked the streets of this beautiful city and did a bit of sight seeing. Russia was wonderful country and I feel so inspired after touring through it.

Chris & Lianne’s Couple Shoot | Elgin

Heinrich & Riana’s Couple Shoot | Cape Town

The other day I met up with Heinrich & Riana in Cape Town to photograph their couple session. I will be photographing their wedding later this year. Every time I photograph in Cape Town, I found totally different corners and locations. Some of my favourite moments were the slow shutter shots in the street and the images photographed on the bridge. Heinrich & Riana, thanks for a great afternoon. I can’t wait for to photograph your wedding day.

Little Hannah

I love sharing stories of hope. Carlo is Zani’s Uncle. He and his wife Yolanda have tried for 9 years to have a baby, but they struggled falling pregnant. Finally, after a lot of pain, they decided to adopt a beautiful baby girl. This is when little Hannah came into their lifes and changed it upside down for good. Hannah was borned on the 16th of September 2010 and she was 8 weeks old when Carlo and Yolanda adopted her.

On her wall in the nursary, they wrote the following:

“Hannah. Before you were born: I dreamed of you, I imagined you, I prayed for you.

Now that you are here: I have hope for you, I have love for you and I thank God for you.”

Here are some of my favorite images that I photographed of Hannah over the last few months. I hope that by sharing this story and these images that somebody were encouraged today.

William & Tjitske’s Beach Couple Shoot

Tjitske and William asked me to do a couple shoot for them so that they can use the images in their ” Save The Date” for their wedding date. We had to cancel numourous time because of the bad weather and the rain. I am so glad that we waited a few days, because it turned out to be a beautiful day. Here are a few of the pictures from the shoot. Next year I will be photographing their wedding day as well.
