Gareth & Helen got married at Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein. What a stunning day this turned out to be. A beautiful couple, great West Coast food and beautiful decor; nothing could go wrong. Helen got ready at the Villa Pescatori in Yzerfontein. Wedding Concepts were the coordinators on the wedding day. From the boutonnieres to the beautiful stationary; the theme of the magnolia flower was beautifully excuted. I loved the soft cloud formations in sky later that afternoon. This really helped to create stunning couple photos and beautiful sunset shots. The rest of the reception was one big party and celebration. Wedding | Oubaai Golf Resort & Spa | Ayis & Madri – Part I

Ayis & Madri celebrated their wedding day at Hyatt Regency Golf Resort & Spa in Oubaai. Oubaai Golf Club is Ernie Els’ first signature golf course in South Africa and what a truly stunning setting it is. Madri have done modeling work in the past and it was really easy to photograph. Their ceremony was held in the Greek Orthodox Church in George. Back at the Oubaai, a big tent was set up on the Golf Course for the reception later that evening. I really enjoyed all the unique moments at this wedding, especially the Greek dancing. Here is part 1 of the their wedding day. To start of the year with a bang, I have decided to post the wedding photos of Jacques & Yolande. Yolande is fellow photography friend in the industry (YSP) and she also runs a small business, The Desert Rose Project. They decided to tie the not in small little town of Philadelphia. Their ceremony was held at the N.G. Church Philadelphia and the reception was held just across the road, at De Malle Meule. Colorful was word that came to mind when I started to photograph the wedding; from the decor to the beautiful day. Their day was filled with beautiful emotions and beautiful moments. Something that stood out for me were the cuff links that Jacques wore on the day. The represent two different star tattooed on his arm. The grain was just harvested that time of the year. The combination of the harvested golden grain fields with bales and the big blue sky really was a stunning setting.

Jacques & Yolande, thanks for allowing me to photograph your special day. May there be many things. I would also like to thank Yolandé Marx for helping and assisting me shoot this wedding. Felt like yesterday that I’ve photographed Heinrich & Riana’s couple shoot in Cape Town. And now it time to share their wedding photos with you. Heinrich & Riana celebrated their wedding day at Val de Vie E, Paarl. Riana & her bridesmaids got ready at a bed & breakfast in the estate. Their ceremony took place at the “Toring Kerk” in Paarl. Back at Val de Vie, the guest enjoyed beer & cocktails as they watch a polo game. Thanks again Heinrich & Riana for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful wedding day. Wedding | Palm Dune Beach Lodge, Durban | Malcolm & Gabrielle

I recently flew up to Durban to photograph Malcolm & Gabrielle’s wedding at the beautiful Palm Dune Beach Lodge at Blythedale Beach. Gaby is a regular visitor to my blog. Her family is Lebanese and I was fortunate to photographed the Lebanese tradition of the bride taking a champagne bubble bath the night before the wedding. This wedding had quite a big bridal party with 8 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, 6 bestmen & 3 page boys. The ceremony took place on the beach . Back at the reception, beautiful chandeliers hanged all over roof that Gabrielle & Malcolm made themselves. The following morning all of the guests who slept over had breakfast on the beach and watched the South Africa vs Australia RWC Quarter-final.

From walking on beautiful beaches to eating some good curry; I surely did enjoy the few days I spend in Durban. This was my first visit and surely not be the last visit. Thank you once again Malcolm & Gabrielle for the privilege of being part of your beautiful Durban wedding. Here are my favorite moments from their wedding day.

Wedding | Mont Rouge, Tulbagh | Lukas & Landi

How do I start to summing up this beautiful wedding of my sister-in-law & her great husband? Lukas & Landi had a beautiful Sunday Afternoon wedding at Mont Rouge in Tulbagh. Landi is Zani’s younger sister. The whole family arrived the day before the wedding to start helping with the preparations. From baking cakes to making little flags, everyone of their close friends and family had some sort of envolvement. While everyone was busy preparing the venue, I decided start photographing the bridal details and decor. This gave me more time to focus on the festivities the following day.

That Sunday was a very hot sunny day in Tulbagh. The whole valley of looked so beautiful and green. I absolutely love Landi’s dress that Zani & Erna from Laceblossom made for her. Because of the beautiful layers & lace in the dress, I spend most of my time photographing it to capture it just right. Lukas was awaiting his bride-to-be at the venue; wearing a “kick-ass” Hilton Weiner outfit. Landi and her bridesmaids walked in on “All you need is Love” by the Beatles. My daughter, Amelie, was the little flower girl. She did leave Landi’s side for one moment; even while they were standing in front. As we all laughed & cried together, the two of them exchanged their vows and became Mr & Ms Jansen van Vuren. Each guest got either a little Bonsai-tree or a hand-made flower brouch as a gift to take home. The rest of the afternoon so relaxed. Manouche, the Gypsy Jazz band, entertained the guest with some great music. I finished the day off with the final couple shoot before packing our bags and heading home. This a really wonderful day and one that we as a family will always treasure.

Landi, my sister, you were one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever photographed. Lukas, you are a sincere man and the best match for Landi! Thanks for giving me the creative freedom to photograph your wedding. The photo of you guys standing on bridge I saw as a prophetic picture that spoke to my heart while busy editing. The bridge resembles new journey that you guys are about to embark on. Enjoy this wonderful journey as God helps and guides you through it. And now ladies & gentle men… I give you to you Landi, Lukas and their beautiful memories.

I recently photographed a few dresses of Laceblossom at the beautiful venue, Hawksmoor House. This was a total different look than the previous shoot that I photographed last year. After wonderful wedding in Moscow and getting to know the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg, we hit the streets to do another shoot with Desmond & Vera. This was actually an evening shoot (ten o’clock in the evening). Because of white nights that time of the year, you can’t really notice that it is so late.
