This was one of my favorite beach wedding that I have photographed. Anton & Gwen both love the sea and that is why they chose Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein as their venue. I loved the fact that the venue is so close to the beach (almost on the beach) and they serve really great seafood for the guests to eat. The beautiful white beach house where Gwen got dressed was such a great location the photos off. There was also a breathtaking sunset that evening. I am not too good with sunset or landscape photography, but I have never spend so much time focusing on some great sunset shots. That was great fun. What can I say… I really loved this experience. The West Coast of South Africa has an unique beauty to it and it’s worth it to make a road trip up that way. Big thanks to Gwen & Anton for being part of your beautiful day. I love the last shot of the post. I photographed it on the dance floor with very little available light, but I love the colors.

Here are some of my favorite images from Alan & Mari’s wedding. The couple pictures was taken on Mari’s family farm. What a beautiful location. From the farm house to the vineyards, I really had enjoyed shooting there. The setting really fitted in to the vintage look of the wedding. Their reception was held at Kronenburg. It was also great to have my wife, Zani, on my site to assisting me.

Ten Years ago: I had braces, thick curly hear and geeky glasses. I had my Matric School Reunion 2 weekends ago. I finished matric 10 years ago at D.F. Malan High (Class of ‘99). It was scary to look at my school photo again. A lot has changed since then. Compare these two images.

Earlier this year I decided to a shoot with my brother, Desmond, and his girlfriend, Bea. We decided to go to Kleinmond for the day. I photographed them under the big bridge with some cool graffiti and rocks. The wind was blowing strongly underneath the bridge. Even though it looked like we had a bad hair day, the wind added some really admosphere to the shots.

There was a time this year that the blog was quite and no new work was posted. That was because we went on vacation for the first time in a long time. This trip to our families beach house in Pringle Bay and to Greyton was a great outing. We got to spent time together as a little family and recharge our batteries as we prepared for the new season ahead. I came back inspired and with a bigger zeal for my work. This was one the best trips and I will always cherish the memories. A special thanks to wife & daughter, Zani and Amelie. You two are the best gifts that God has given me. Here are some of the amazing images that I photographed on this trip. Most of the images are of Amelie.
