Steve & Lana got married on a lovely Sunday morning at the Rhebokskloof Estate,outside Paarl. These two have really been busy organizing everything for their final day since the last time I saw them and in the end their hard work paid off.
My day started off photographing Lana getting ready at the Goedemoed Guest House in Paarl. Before the wedding I tried to convince Lana to try and do a “Trash the Dress” shoot with her. But after I saw the dress I said to her that this dress weren’t made for trashing. Lana looked beautiful from the flower in her head to the shoes on her feet. Her natural beauty and personality made her such a fantastic bride to photograph. Then it was off to the venue where a nervous Steve awaited patiently. They got married in the garden under the gazebo overlooking the dam. The feathered, beaded confetti used to be shower the couple after signing the register was handmade by Lana herself (give yourself a pad on the back). The reception followed with buffet lunch on the stoep and everybody enjoyed themselves for the rest of the afternoon. The wedding cake had their names written all over in brown icing sugar and all the guest got little brown/cream stripped boxes to take a piece of cake home. I started photographing their couple session right at the end of the day when most guests started heading home. We continued taking photographs of them until I could see their eyes that they were tired.
