Quintin and Michelle contact me in the middle of last year and asked me if I would be willing to photograph their wedding in Plettenberg Bay. I aggreed without thinking twice. Since this was our first time in Plettenberg Bay, Zani and Amelie accopanied on the trip. After the wedding we traveled around the garden route and took a bit of a brake from work. This was one of my favorite weddings of 2008. This might feel like a show and tell session at Primery School. So buckle up, here we go!

Their reception were held at the Plettenberg Park Hotel & Spa (What a lovely venue!). This 5 star Hotel & Spa is situated in a private nature reserve, nestling on a cliffs edge and overlooking the Indian Ocean. Michelle was transformed into a beautiful bride with her flowing wedding dress, glamorous earrings, hair and make-up. The ceremony took place on the beach where the couple got married bear foot in the sand. The couple’s getaway car was a yellow Jeep with purple flower attached to the front bumper. We spent another hour on the beach photgraphing the family photos, bridal party and couple photos. Back at the reception the party kicked with fun, laughter, good food & wine to follow. Quintin, who studied film & directing, made a funny little short film and play it for his bride as part of his speech. For the first dance the couple performed a coordinated dance that they have been practicing before the wedding day (looked like So You Think You Can Dance). The cake was a funky yellow and purple striped cake with a little bride & groom on top. When it came to the tradition of throughing the bride’s gatter, it was the granny who caught it (Sorry boys, guess it granny whos getting married next). For the last few shots to finish off the day, I photographed Michelle & Quintin standing between the Chinese Laterns.
Look out for the next post as I will show some picture of Quintin & Michelle’s Day after shoot. Before I bore you out of your socks with all the stories and with every little detail here are a few of the best images to sum up the day. Thanks agian Quintin & Michelle for letting me travel all the way to Plettenberg Bay to come and photograph your wedding.
