Simon & Jennifer’s E-Session Around the Cape

In the begining of December, I photographed an engagement session for Simon & Jennifer.  I will be photographing their wedding pictures early in January next year. Simon is Irish and Jennifer comes from Venezala in South America.  They are a lovely couple and it was great spending time with them. We started off at the at the Newlands Forest, photographed a few beach shot at Hout Bay and finished off on Capman’s Peak. Look out for their wedding photos soon to be posted on this blog. But for now, here is some of the best images of their engagement session.

Marschant & Tamlyn’s Wedding at Vrede & Lust

Marschant & Taryn got married on the 20th of November at the Vrede & Lust Wine Estate. It was a beautiful mid-week wedding and the setting at Vrede & Lust is as always stunning. The vineyards, the mountain and the last rays of sunlight created a romantic atmosphere for their couple shots. Marschant is a graphic designer and he designed all of the wedding stationary and invitations (great job). The rest of the evening was loads of fun, dancing and laughter. Thank you Marschant & Tamlyn.  It was fun working with you two lovebirds.  Here are some of my favorite photos.

2008/11/25 – New Photos of Amelie

Amelie was dedicated over the weekend in our Church, Harvester Reformational Church.  All of our family got together at our house for burger barbeque to celebrate this day with us and Amelie.  For this special occasion, I decided to put together a small slideshow for the family.  Wow, Amelie is going quickly… I can’t believe how the time passed us by so quickly.  She is really our little bundle of joy.  To be a daddy is one of the best experiences in the world.  Here is a few of my favorite pictures from the slideshow. Enjoy!

Francois & Mari’s Wedding

Wow, where do I start.  Francois & Mari got married in the beautiful Presbyterian Church in Stellenbosch on the 11th of October 2008.  They had their reception at Tokara. This was one of my favorite weddings that I have photographed this year.  There were so many nice moments and things to photograph that I was inspired from the beginning of the wedding.  Mari was a beautiful bride and Francois was a fun groom.  They were so much fun to photograph.  Tokara also gave us more than enough options as a backdrop for their couple photos.  It is a beautiful venue with beautiful scenery and good food! I also loved the flowers (from the bouquet to the reception).

Rudi & Karin’s Save the Date Shoot

Last week Wednesday, I photographed Rudi and Karin for their Save the Date invitations.  They are getting married in Ferbuary next year and their wedding will be coordinated by the Aleit Group. The photos were taken at the Molenvliet Estate on the Hellshoogte Pass.  What a stunning venue! There was lots of inspiration here to use as a backdrop.  I loved photographing in the forest and on the rocks in the river. I would love to shoot a wedding here.  Rudi & Karin, thanks! You were loads of fun to photograph.  I hope you two have a wonderful wedding and a beautiful live together.  Here are some of the images of the day.

Danie & Lisa’s Fun Couple Shoot

Daniel and Lisa booked me earlier the year for their wedding photos, but they change the date to get married a bit earlier.  I was already booked for another client and could take their wedding photos any more.  I suggested that we do an engagement session instead.  They accepted the idea and we photographed their e-session on the last Sunday in September.

2008/10/20 – Daniel & Ute’s Wedding

Daniel & Ute got married on the 3rd of October 2008 at the top of the Kommetjie Lighthouse in Kommetjie.  Since they traveled alone from Germany to South Africa for their wedding and honeymoon, it was a small wedding ceremony (just me, the couple, marriage officer and two witnesses).  It was difficult to photograph up in the lighthouse for space was a bit of a problem with this big light next to you. But here is a few of my favorite images.  The wedding was coordinated by Kap Event. We photographed a few photos at the Lighthouse at the beach further down.  Thanks Daniel & Ute.  I hope you enjoy your honeymoon in South Africa and have a safe journey home!

2008/10/15 – Neil & Cheri’s E-Session

One Saturday afternoon in Cape Town in September, I photographed a engagement session with Neil & Cheri.  We drove around Town until we found cool spots & locations to use for our urban inspiration. I had loads of fun! This is my second e-session and I am really starting to love photographing couples before their wedding date.  I think that it is a good trail run before the wedding for both the couple and photographer to get to know each other better.  I am also photographing their wedding next year March in George. So keep an eye out for these two. Here is a few of my favorite photos of the shoot.

Daddy’s Little Baby Amelie

A few weeks ago Zani and I made a thank you card to had out to all the people who helped us during the pregnancy/birth and to all the people who gave something.  We printed three little photos of Amelie a DL-size page and inserted it into the card.  Here is the three photos that we printed for the card.  I love the last one where she is laughting (my brother, Desmond, took the picture). I tell you, that little smile makes my day when I worked hard.  It is incredible how they grow up so quickly.  I treasure everyday with her.    Hope you guys enjoy it!
